Micrometer Carriage Stop for Atlas lathe

After using a carriage stop that clamps to the edge of the flat ways of an Atlas lathe that never seems to be able to tighten enough to keep from cocking sideways I decided to make one that hooked over the ways.
The micrometer stops I've always seen have the micrometer in the center, but in trying to keep it as short as possible because it runs into the headstock I came up with this.

I'm not very good at documenting my builds because I am thinking about the next step rather than cameras so I didn't get any photos of the milling or the single point threading of the 5/16-40 threads or making the tap.

I didn't get any of the boring but here it is being tapped with the shop-built tap.

Next I cut a press fit plug for the end of the 1" aluminum tube that will later become the end cap and cut the taper.

Marking out 25 divisions on the barrel and the simple indexer that I used. Just a 100 tooth blade a section of square tubing shoulder bolted to the end of the bench and a small bungie cord. The tube just hangs along side the leg of the lathe with the bungie hooked in the end of the tube when not in use, the blade and mandrel get tossed in a drawer.
