Mill Table Light LED
I made a bracket to mount to my spindle for a DRO.
Attachment 17262
and then decided I should add a LED which I got off superbrightleds
These leds do not require a heat sink, I ordered a 70mm I could have gone for a larger (80mm-90mm) that would have given me more leds in the ring. The bracket takes up 1/4" inch so I lose 1/4" from spindle travel but it is off the top and I doubt I will miss it.
Attachment 17263
I had to make a travel stop, as if I pushed the spindle all the way up it would pop off the bracket.
The travel stop is not perfect as if the travel rod is rotated the spindle could still push the bracket off, I will have to keep my eye on it.
I do not know how often I might rotate the travel rod to set a Z spindle max travel, we will see.
Attachment 17264
Here you see how well the table is lit!
Attachment 17265
And this is without the LED, of course my camera flashed so it is lit but you should see the difference.
Attachment 17266
Now you see the lit table.
Attachment 17267
Boy this forum software sucks it would not allow me to upload 1/2 my pictures.
Just allowed some, others it rejected, all .jpg about the same size.
I will try to add them to a reply.
I have them on my Google Drive so let me know if you want to see all of them.

Ralphxyz,
Great advice about the LEDs that do not require heat sinks. The photo posting software has it's quirks and after a while you will know what works and what doesn't work, and how to get around flipping the photos 90 degrees.

Well I was doing some quick knock out milling on some plastic and had not thought about turning on the light.
When I did WOW, what a difference!!
Oh for those of you wondering, NO there is no shadow!!
