Hey frank, about cnc capability, dont know, my friend did try a stepper motor to start with & couldnt get it to work, it was going to be driven with a digital panel which i thought too painful to use, so I opted for simple system, good ol fashioned knobs

I can fully appreciate knobs

It's from an industrial robotic co. he used to work for but there are several alternatives on ebay. This one 24v. Look @ garage door opener motors, these have a cool built in clutch, they are similar to wiper motors. Hope this helps, cheers
