A couple of constructive comments; #1 the shaft that connects between the handwheel and the gear box will have a smoother operational feel if the yolks of the connecting shaft would be clocked to align parallel to each other. #2 I know this is being a bit picky but if some bearing locker lock-tight would be applied to the slip fit bearing races the rotary motion will also feel more precise

The driveshaft yokes are 90º out of phase, if that were an automotive setup, it would doubtful that you would get out of first gear!
Both yokes on the driveshaft need to be inline.
