    This was nowhere near a vertical cliff the excavator went down. The person filming the vid made it look like the cliff was a much steeper angle than it actually was. The proof is at .39 when you can see the many different levels of the mining cuts in the background.

    And, at the beginning, there is no way the excavator could hold position on the cliff with it's boom extended and not just tip over. Using the hills in the background, this is more likely what it looks like:

    That's about a 45 degree rotation...

    Notice the clump of dirt falling off the leading edge to the track in the first 2 seconds. Corroborates the 45 degree rotation.

    Trees and vegetation always grows up vertical. That's how you can tell what the angle really is.

    Based on the eagle eye catches of Karl_H and Toolguy, I have updated the image to be a 54 degree rotation:
