    A central light will create shadows over large workpieces right and left. The best approach is to have two spotlights right and left of the spindle to illuminate the whole table and reduce shadows.

    I did something like this on my Clausing 8520 vertical mill, Eventually the oil from the spindle soaked the led cob ring and wiring so it shorted out. Also there was a bothersome shadow.
