    MINI TABLE SAW

Among many other accessories, Unimat makes a table saw attachment for the lathe. Since a long time ago, I wanted to make a small table saw, so I used this lathe to make a try. This is the work of last week end.

I used a 1-3/4” rotary saw blade, intended for rotary tools. The table is a leftover acrylic board (Corian or Corian-like), which is easy to machine with woodworking tools.

As all table saws, this is not a device for freehand cuts; conversely, the material to be cut should be supported with miter gauge or against fence. It should also be used some push stick in order to keep the fingers away from the blade.

The useful height of the 1-3/4” diam blade is 9 mm; that of the 1-3/8” diam blade is 4 mm. This table saw would be useful to cut tiny pieces, such as in modelism.

    This is the 1-3/8" blade:

Now, I plan to make another mini table saw with a 3” blade. As with other projects, I've made a Pinterest board to gather some ideas (https://es.pinterest.com/morsa00/mini-table-saw/).

    Regards, morsa.
