Cute. A lot of work. If that an actual watershed, that dam will fail and leave a pile of rubble in the water way.

The "loose" condition of the sides and bottom of that ditch make me wonder the actual situation. That "ditch" does not appear to have seen any water flow since it was created.

It's a real stream, but the platen he made at the beginning is the only permanent part. He is an engineer, and building miniature dams is his hobby. Each dam is unique. He dismantles them afterward and returns the stream bed to original before starting over. Sometimes his children and pets "help" him with the build, which is cute.
His early ones were more practical, but as time went they got more complex ans fanciful.
My favorite is one that carried the flow over the top of the dam past the genrator, and diverted the flow through vertical drains to a generator deep down in the center ahead of the drains.
