I always wanted to have a mobile air compressor that would not be limited by the length of the power cable, I decided to build a compressor that would be driven by an internal combustion engine. I used a 160cc motor, 220l/min pump. The motor stops powering the air pump when the required air pressure is reached, so that the compressor does not have to be switched on continuously, the motor automatically starts powering the air pump when the pressure drops.

Thanks WarsztatOdZera. Good build! I did not see a wire going to the drive clutch. Did you use a clutch that engages at a certain RPM of the engine? Is the engage speed adjustable at the clutch or is it simply controlled by the spring tension?

Just curious as to why you used an electric solenoid throttle control and a centrifugal clutch instead of an unloader valve and pneumatic throttle which would not have required a battery.
Don't get me wrong I like the idea of the clutch for ease of starting even with an unloader valve.
Batteries are OK providing the engine has a charging module and possibly electric start
