Mobile Welding Chair.
This one is pretty handy. I trash picked this oak Dining Chair. The seat was split and it had a few holes drilled in it.
Anyway, I had a use for it so it got picked up. I built a platform using some old bed rails I had stashed, stuck in a plywood bottom and set the chair on the platform. With the steel tool holder everything is right there at hand.

It rolls around great and is pretty manueverable when running beads with either the Tig or Mig. I am thinking of adding a shelf out in front to support the foot control so it will roll with me.

Nice build Mark! I like the height of it and having a back is great, but beware of kids riding it down the driveway! Thanks! ~PJ

Thanks PJ! I've been using this for a few years now and it is pretty handy, even for stuff not involving welding.

Those are handy, back when I was production mig welding I made a similar one using a small shopping cart for the base
and used an old chrome steel dinning chair seat and back stuck to the basket riser tubes and used the lower rack
to hold the smaller parts I was welding on to the projects...
-
I did something similar for holding filler rod when Tigging. The last pic, lower left leg, you can see a cut down rod tube taped to it.
There is also the tine portion of a serving fork screwed to the right rear leg to hang the Tig Torch on. :)

Ok,I see that, I sure liked having the ability to be comfy when welding, it makes the day go faster
and it makes production numbers better, I had a mig gun hanger on my table and a monorail with a chain fall hoist to handle
the assemblies coming in and going out to prime and paint....
