Modobag motorized rideable luggage - GIFs, video, photo

Modobag motorized rideable carry-on luggage. Raised $645,000 in a successful crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo.

Belt-driven 150-watt electric motor. Top speed 5-8 MPH; around twice walking speed. Includes USB charging ports and GPS. 19 pounds. About $1,200.

Besides the cost (not absurd, but not cheap), the downside is that grown adults look kinda silly riding this, especially the traveling business professionals to whom this product is being primarily targeted. A stand-up version might address this.

Yes, I really want to see how many neatly dressed professional ladies wearing heels you can get to squat on their suitcases. An airport full of these things might cause me to abandon my current vision of Hell, a Disney cruise.

I am wondering what the airlines will think of relatively large battery powered devices being stored in the cargo bay.
There must surely be security, battery explosion and fire risks with these gadgets.

It's hard to top the Modobag for bad luggage ideas, but here we have the Travelmate - luggage that follows you around. I know there's a GPS tracker in here, but who would ever want to let go of their luggage?

Yeah, Homeland Security is going to love that one.

What happens when you go to the restroom? Does it have a "Stay, boy !" switch?

Handy for drug smugglers, though... Honest officer, that's not my bag. It just followed me into the airport.
