The thing is that "Blower" he made is moving almost no air.

Need to google centrifugal blower and notice where the inlet is.....

I bet if he bypassed his "blower" it would work just as well. Put a side entrance like it should have and it will work much better.

When I saw his impeller design I thought the same thing. The plate that mounts with wing nuts needs to have a hole in the center of it. Block off the current inlet and that thing will suck the leaves up before the blades can touch them!
