Multipurpose door entry tool - GIF

This $80 tool is billed as an "11-function multipurpose tool designed to assist first responders in faster and more efficient passive entry", but it looks like an unusually gimmicky specimen.

Those locks have the extra pin that prevents bolt retraction without using the handle. EVERY ONE of them must have the alignment wrong to where the pin falls into the bolt recess on the door frame.

Looks like a small building square if thin enough would work as well.

Thats what I was thinking as well.

That's all fine and dandy my pocket knife will usually do the same thing.
But when there is a dead bolt thrown in the mix then it is time for unavoidable damage to occur. Still damage to a door or a gate in a life saving response is a very minor concern.
