Simple and inexpensive, the Maverick was Ford's answer to the import market. Although the total number of Mavericks sold in its first year rivaled that of the Mustang, it's all but a flash in the pan and it did nothing to increase its collectible value. Of course, the Maverick shouldn't be compared to the big names such as the Mustang or Camaro for it was never was performance-oriented to begin with.

While this underappreciated Ford is looked at with disdain by collectors, it has a huge following down south in Brazil. This beautiful fastback built by chirt on Maverick.to, should make some reconsider their opinion on the Maverick.
