My Introduction

My name is Don and I have just resently joined this site. I have been wood working for several years but have just recently started to work in metal. Last spring I picked up a used Atlas 618 lathe. Then in the summer I purchased a mill/drill and a cutoff band saw. I main interest in the beginning was small steam engines which I have completed one and have two more on the go. However I find I spend most of my time making tools to make other things.
I am now retired but I spent most of my working career in drafting, engineering and CNC programming.
