    National Airlines Flight 102 crash - GIF

    National Airlines Flight 102 crash moments after takeoff from Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan on April 29, 2013. Investigators concluded that one of the five armored vehicles it was carrying was improperly secured. The vehicle rolled toward the back of the hold, crashed through the rear bulkhead, damaging the rear flight control systems.

    There was a documentry about this accident some years ago. It shows how they forensically reconstructed the incident and what had failed and the ensueing collapse of the bulkhead and the flight controls. The pilot didn't stand a chance in hell in making any kind of a recovery. Basically the hold down straps failed if memory serves me.

    The straps failed because they were installed incorrectly. It was an episode of Air Disasters

    With a heavy load shifting position during takeoff climb, the center of gravity would change and the aircraft would stall. That's visible in the first few seconds of video. Even if no flight controls had been damaged, this crew was screwed.
