Need some help to create engine block o ring grooving tool

Hi,

I'm looking for some ideas on how I would go about creating a tool to cut some grooves in a engine block to accept o rings. I plan to run a copper gasket and this is a requirement. The o rings are basically mig wire, steel or stainless wire can be used.

You can buy tools for this but it can get expensive, so looking at a diy solution.

Go with the BHJ tool. Far more accurate for for a operation that should not be taken lightly. Costs more than Isky but but you cannot cheap out on high performance builds or you end up with a pile of junk and having to start over.

I don't want to buy an actual tool, looking for a homemade solution.

I understand what you want. Look at the BHJ tool and the design to get the accuracy needed for this type of operation. You will spend more time, money and energy to make a tool as accurate. Or just go to a machine shop that has the capability. Again it is your motor, do it right or do it twice.
