    New base for 4x6 bandsaw

    Hi All

Been awhile since I last posted so hope to start posting some of the projects I have been working on that I hope will be of interest.

After 35 years of owning this saw from new it is getting a long needed overhaul.

First job is to replace the flimsy sheet metal base and wheel assembly. I can’t take credit for the design. The design was found on YouTube by Budget Phil link to his excellent video
    .

l have changed a few items to suit my needs. I have changed the angle on the legs and made it slightly higher. The lower rails have been set to accept a coolant tank I have. The wheel diameter is also smaller as I had these laying around in the shop.

I plan on improving the loose and fixed jaw, add coolant system, drip/swarf tray, hydraulic feed system and rewire. As I complete these I will post on HMT

Got an old Taiwanese version of that saw sitting in the back yard waiting for me to have time to fix it. That flimsy sheetmetal base is the very first thing I want to fix! I will be following your work!
