New guy

Hi all, just discovered this forum and it looks to be a great place. I'm old and dumb enough to have several careers, started out in an automotive machine shop, owned my own repair shop, been gunsmithing since I was old enough to have my own guns and have been in that business for many years. Somewhere in there I also put enough time as a criminal investigator to retire from it. I look forward to learning from all the experience this board has and hope I can help some as well.

I like to build rather than buy when it's feasible, my father taught me to do it yourself it was always a last resort to pay someone to do something we could figure out and adapt something to use. I have a home shop and always have more projects going than I can ever get done it seems. Some of the future projects I'd like to do are a surface grinder either free standing or adapted to my mill or lathe and a press.
