Jon-
I have been making instruments for over thirty years well, most of my life actually. I have made three solid body guitars, lead, bass and rhythm and wound the pickups myself, five various hollow bodies of my own design, taught how to make the Mountian Dulcimer to student in the 5th and 7th grades. I also have been making the Native American Style flutes with stone inlay and other ceremonial instrument like rattles, tunable gourd drums and sunflower stalk rainsticks. More recently I have been making digeridoos out of trees and branches found on my 10-acres in Central Wisconsin.
In my younger years I made a full English drum-set with snare, bass and four toms, the cymbals were purchased though. I also have made most of the tools needed to make these instruments. Like I said in my intro, I am never too old to learn new ways to do things. I am very interested now in smelting my own metals and blacksmithing. Thanks for allowing me to join and I hope to learn a variety of new techniques in woodworking.
