I't will consist of a small 2.5" X 3" drum sander attached to my small lathe. I cut thin strips on my bandsaw for pen segmenting and they need to be sanded before use.

Interesting. We've found that the smaller tools are much more challenging to construct. Looking forward to seeing your pics of the build.
