New member...
Howdy,
I'm a toolmaker living in Johannesburg, South Africa. Currently employed as the Facilities supervisor at a defense contractor. (Yup! The dreaded maintenance job... where everything is your problem!LoL!!)
I'm a garage tinkerer.. Love to make stuff and see other people's stuff. Life got in the way a bit... but slowly rebuilding my home workshop.
Oh... and I'm the king of over engineering! I suppose much like all home tinkerers!
My current home project is some mods to my adventure motorcycle.
At work I'm building an effluent recycling plant.... with a zero budget! You know the one where you have to prove a point but they won't give you the $$$ to prove it! Slowly getting there...
For those in the know on the subject: Just by adding aeration I've managed to get the COD in the local authority spec. Quick and easy.
anywho... gotto get cracking!

Thank you Jon...
I ride a 2010 KLR650. Mostly mini adventures. At 6'6" I struggle a bit when standing up offroad (handle bars too close) so made off-set foot peg brackets to shift the pegs 50mm down and 50mm back. Side effect now was that the pedals were just a bit far for my liking. (As allways... one mod invariably calls the next!) So I made another bracket to move the brake assembly back 50mm, and fabricated a shorty gear lever.
Another mod was to re-purpose a sturdy vinal cooler bags as a top-box instead of the plastic top-box. Works a charm.
Next I want to fabricate my own bash-plate..
