Hi, I am a hobby machinist and have a small shop in my house. I have a mini lathe C3 and mini mill X2, I build small steam engines and like to make tools to make my job easier.

I have just completed a simple lantern chuck that can hold bolts from 2mm to 12mm. I often have to shorten or change a bolt and always end up damaging the thread.
I made it from a 20mm x 1.5mm bolt and nut and then made an additional chuck for the bigger bolts and bolts with a bigger/longer head like capscrews. It is certainly not a show piece but a working tool so I did no finishing on it and put it straight to work.
