Hello, I've just joined this group, having been directed here by a fellow member of the Model Engineering list. I have a reputation as being a fan of tooling made and described by George H. Thomas in the Model Engineer magazine. In fact I attended the Ascott exhibition, which celebrated the 100 years of SMEE, and showed the fairly full collection of GHT designs which I have made.
I am still working as a machinist with an Agricultural Machinery dealer in North Yorkshire although I'm nearly 68.
I also fly fish, collect Exakta/ Ihagee cameras and generally annoy my wife by hoarding all sorts of things which might prove useful.....someday.
BTW although I have lived in Yorkshire for many years I am originally from Scotland.
Regards,
Alan Hopwood.

Hi Alan,
Welcome!
Sounds as though you'll fit right in! Lots of guys hoarding bits of this and that against possible future use. My wife would certainly recognize that description! You might enjoy a look at our Machining category…
When you're ready to share some of your own homemade tools, we'd love to see them. Please post them directly in the Homemade Tools, subforum. We'll add each one to the database, as well as to your builder page on the site.
Non-tool items should be shared in the Not a Tool, but Homemade subforum.
