Hi everyone,
I'm just introducing myself. I have been receiving the emails weekly for several years now, but just recently decided to become a member. I love to build and modify things and love to see all the great work you guys do. I am an Embedded Systems Engineer who also to do metalwork, woodwork, and just about any other kind of creative work there is. I really enjoy seeing the things you guys come up with. Thanks for all the great Ideas.

Hi richard - welcome to HomemadeTools.net :welcome:
Always nice to have another engineer on board :)
What are you thinking of building next? Do you see any projects here that pique your interest?

Hi richardhag,
Welcome! :welcome:
Sounds like a great skill set. What sort of homemade tools do you find yourself building most often?

Thanks for the welcome guys. We have been remodeling our house for the past several years, so I haven't had much of a chance to work on projects like I would like to. Things have been especially hectic for the past two years, but The house is almost done now, so soon I will have my Saturdays back! Mostly I have been working on small projects that I can do int the evenings when I have a little free time. I have been doing a lot of modifications to my bike helmet to allow me to easily attach and detach things like earmuffs and lights and battery packs and goggles and a mask. I like to ride my bike to work year round, so I need to be able to modify it for the current season. I am also working on modifying a Leatherman Wave multitool with a new set of jaws from a Leatherman Rebar and adding some new scissors and other tools. I am hoping to be able to build myself a small workshop once the house is done and have somewhere to really do some work and a place for all my tools. Some of my next projects will be to make some tools for the mini-lathe I bought a few years back, and maybe even do a bed extension on it. As far as projects here that pique my interest, It's hard to pick just a few because most of them are really amazing. I just love anything that is made with ingenuity to solve a problem.
