New use for an old gauge
Released a bit over a week ago, I made this up to try and get better control over the positioning of my mill stops. I could have gone with a digital indicator, but reading to 0.1mm (4 thou) is fine for accuracy, and it means one less battery to go flat. The gauge can be removed and still be used as a depth gauge, another plus.

The only potential detriment you'll find, is the dial itself, when chips find their way into the rack. The mounting itself is proper, parallel & level with travel, not inducing sine error. The discrepant reading between DRO and dial is partially not having same resolution. Too, is a possible very small error where mount has a compound difference of parallel & level over such distance.

Thanks Toolmaker
The video may not have made it clear but I intend to remove the gauge before cutting metal - apart from it crashing into the DRO reader bracket, it's also to avoid that very situation - getting chips in the rack.
