Newbie from across the pond

Retired Maintenance Engineer, apprentice time served in what was the British Steel industry, 2 years in the British merchant navy as Jnr & 4th engineer, spent last 20 years instructing apprentices, assessing & verification of Mechanical Engineering students / adults from apprentices, trades men to graduate engineers. worked in Saudi, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Russia, Last 5 years before retiring, in North Sea environment.
Have converted garage to workshop with Lathe, mill ( US equiv' G0704) Bench drill various small stuff.
Never had time to get into model eng. but now involved more currently involved with small steam engines.
