Non-slip ruler
Attachment 36588
Got fed up with ruler slipping as I try to draw a line (particularly on profiled material, or even a wall). Not sure how effective this will be, but using doubled sided tape and non-slip rubbery material (don’t know its commercial name), hope you will also find this helpful.

I have always said “ruler”, but visiting local engineers, I was told it is a RULE!

Nice useful tip I have some adhesive foam strip to try. BTW they are correct in calling it a rule, I think in this case you are the ruler in many ways.

Thin (~1 mm) cork sheeting works well too.

Phillip,
I have 6" but I don't use it as a rule.
