I came away with two things: I remain in awe of your skills with an engraving burr, and 'too much whisky or not quite enough' is going up in my shop somewhere :-)

(also does the microscopic engraving get more visible when it's heated?

I second that. This is going in my favorites links (I don't know why -I'll never be able to duplicate your fine work!)

Thanks Bruce & fem2008 for your comments. Just heated up a micro eng test piece, nope doesn't become more visible. It was oxidized with beechwood Casey brass black then lightly scotchbrighted. Bottoms up! Cheers
