Oil funnel holder
I recently changed the oil in my wife's car for the first time since we bought it. I set the funnel in the fill hole, and it stayed there slightly back and to the right. I figured it would stay there. It did until the funnel was about half full. Then it tipped forward and spilled oil on the engine which resulted in a rant of nasty language.
I made these two holders. One for her car and one for my truck. Really easy to make. I used steel because I have plenty and also the weight might make it more stable. Aluminum would also work okay. Turn the smaller diameter a little smaller than the fill hole. The larger diameter large enough to form a step. For my Harbor Freight funnel a 5/8" hole was just right for the fill hole. I drilled some small holes around the 5/8" hole to let the air flow out as the oil is poured in. They let the oil flow at a reasonable rate, but I may put in four more holes to speed it up.

Floradawg.....I guess a good hardwood or plastic plug would also do the job, drilled in the same way and one could add a funnel neck support as well to stabilize the funnel even more. You idea is sheer genius, thanks!
