    The Old Man's Shop

    Hi Guys,

Old man Chris here - an ancient 71 year old machinist with limited shop resources, although I still manage to make quite a lot. Age is catching up and these days long term standing the shop limits my time in there - as well sometimes as temperatures! Been following homemadetools.net through emails for ages and have found good inspiration sometimes.

I am active on YouTube and have several hundred videos - earlier ones not always being too slick! My channel link is - ChrisB257 Channel, and I have a web site which is essentially just an indexing system for all my videos - eventually I hope to add some extra material possibly. Do take a peek -- http://www.oldmansshop.com

Hoping to still manage more projects even if less frequent. Current subscribers number 10.5k, which never fails to amaze me. My location is SW Central PA.

    Hi ChrisB257 - welcome to HomemadeTools.net

71 is young for these parts! Very cool site; feel free to add a link to it in your forum signature.

What's next up on your projects list?

What is next? Hmmm - well, I have to finish work on an "Acute Sharpening System" - kit of parts, long left on back burner. Then, Intend to do some renovation on an old Maytag 92 engine. Then, some restoration on a very old blow lamp.
I am working towards designing a draw bar system for my (old) lathe spindle in order to try and lock the chuck on a threaded spindle - and then be able to safely run in reverse.
Beyond that - who knows! Various odds and ends that crop up! All however being dependent on standing time in the shop - back and hip arthritis make for considerable limitations.
Ain't technology great - until it goes wrong!
