    Interesting how the bird would use the grass along the side and swerve back onto the road.

    I would guess it was a territorial thing, the ostritich chased them for awhile and then when they were past a point, it broke chase.

    Y'know, maybe the bird was just enjoying the camaraderie of a workout with a couple of strangers.

    It looks like the ostrich was just amusing itself playing with the cyclists. It clearly didn't like running on the pavement since it found dirt or grass whenever it could. It's feet might have hurt after that so it broke chase.
