Hi.
Picture is taken from my workplace, but its made using angle grinder, drill and mig. Doesn't reguire special tools.
I tought one could find it usefull idea.
Material is 50mm ( 2" ) x 50mm x 5mm square tubing.
Plates at the ends are 6mm thick.
Pressure inside it is 6 bars.
Moves hoses from the floor. Hose holders are made from mig wire spools ( 15kg ).

Thanks Tuomas nice idea. Having a manifold drop like that in a shop, large or small, is handy. Interesting the square tube is pressurized with 6 bar (~90psi)...More good welding!! ;)

I never liked air hoses lying on the floor, not a fan of recoiling spools either. But both are the predominate means of supplying air.
Toumas's overhead extension beats both of those; I will adopt these exactly, with a portable manual spool or two, when I plumb for air.
I could see a pivoting arm off the end to position a light over work, double use.

I haven't set up an air supply system for my machine van but I always liked having a hose hanging instead of being om the floor back when I had my old shop I used DOT coiled trailer hoses to supply most of the air to work stations the air brake hoses are very durable and will not kink like the cheapo yellow ones you see so many people use at their work stations plus they will supply enough volume to run a 1/2 inch impact
I replace quite a few trailer hoses from time to time but keep the ones I feel are still serviceable for my own future use.
A coiled hose on an articulated overhead arm with a work light would be the way to go I think.

The extra volume in the tube is like having a small buffer tank near to the tool being used. The larger the tube the greater the benefit.

When welding you usually don't need to use very big tools. Pneumatic hammer for removing splatters and slag, small grinder and rotary tool. Those doesn't reguire very big airflow
5 persons can easily use one wall connection when using that extra container. ( more likely they don't use pneumatic tools at the same time, couple are allways welding)
