2nd that Hemmjo. I have worked for companies that had a 'My way or the highway' attitude when it came to safety and the only thing to do regardless is walk and then go all out to ruin their business.
One large multi-national firm was really bad with the maintenance when I started and one night a workmate and I immobilized a few trucks, as in off the ground, no wheels, brakes removed, parts hidden and left a note listing all the parts needed which were expected to be on site when we turned up for work.
The 'phone calls to the transport agency and a couple of politicians were our protection for when we got fired so we could sue.
Strangest thing ever was not only were the parts there but senior management wanted an explanation as they had much explaining to do to various 'authorities'.
Shite job but I stayed another couple of years because there was never another "don't care just do it" and parts were supplied as needed.
I'll add that the lost day cost the company big time but the downtime and insurance payments for 'accidents' were drastically reduced when proper maintenance kicked in. Even got the place computerized!
