Oversized Dremel sanding disks

My Dremel sanding/grinding setup would benefit a lot from a sanding disk larger than those sold by Dremel so I decided to make my own.

I used the fender washer & 5-40 screw and nut assembly described in my mechanical demagnetizer post...

DIY Demagnetising tool that works

as the basis and glued a 2" diameter wooden disk to the washer. A central hole in the wood provides relief for the screw head.



Sandpaper disks were cut from some self-stick sandpaper and applied to the wooden disks.



I'm pleased to report that they work very well.

2 of my rotary tools have interchangeable collets allowing me to use 6mm or 1/4" shank die grinder burs and attachments. for sanding disks I use these.
