    Because the wooden pallet is valuable enough to warrant spending the labor, not to mention the machine cost to put a cheap plastic pallet under it??

    End users that dont have pallets to exchange when delivery is made, dont get a quality hardwood pallet.
    Here is Australia, CHEP pallets demand $80 - $100 each. So when you drive past a big warehouse and see piles of empty CHEP pallets stacked up, do some math. Thats just another cost for a middleman to carry.........

    I was wondering if it didn't have more to do with export regulations? If you can only export a non-wooden pallet unless the wooden one has been properly treated for pests, etc.

    We had a similar tipper 30 years ago at a creamery where I worked. We would tip a pallet of four cheese barrels (500 pounds each, total of 2K pounds per pallet) to allow some of the whey to drain out.
