The French like small planes. This is the popular Cri-Cri

Accidental duplicate post. Can't delete but can edit it. I guess that the people who write forum software do not use forums.

Numerous fora have experienced the situation where one of their more prolific members becomes disgruntled over something and deletes all his posts before leaving the forum, thus denying future members from whatever useful plans/ideas/methods/etc. he may have presented.

To forestall this sort of behavior, many fora have made it impossible to delete a post. Often the period when one can edit a post is kept short for similar reasons.

Thanks for that Marv. I did not know that people could be so petty, my wife says that I live in a bubble and I don't understand "normal" people. I have left fora but it never occurred to me to want to delete en masse. I had noticed that editing time has shrunk over the period that I have visited this one. In fact it is the only one that I visit regularly. I found the reduced editing time to be a pain on several occasions, it now seems to be less than a day.
The problem with deletions could easily be solved by putting on a sensible time limit. From what I have observed with my own posts and those of others, even one hour would be very useful, but where is the harm in a day or two?

I count my own inability to "understand normal people" as one of my greatest intellectual achievements.
