Pete.
Hi all,
i've been in electronics all my life, but had to take early retirement due to a road traffic accident back dec/96 and now disabled, i dropped electronics at that time in favour of playing with my lathe, i have no training whatever in metal, not even at school and I'm sure i do it all wrong, but hey! it works for me, one thing i like to make is PCP air rifles from scratch for target shooting which i enjoy, but i got the electronics bug again a few years back, but i'm still play with my lathe, i'm also a keen radio ham but i do not like new equipment and either make my own, modify something or restore old radio gear, just buying new off the shelf radio gear is not much better than CB, not that there's anything wrong with CB, but radio ham's are supposed to experiment with radio/electronics, it is my belief that new cheap imported radio gear has, or is destroying the hobby, sorry chaps (and chapesses) rant over.
When i did my training and studies in electronics back in, "to long ago to remember!" (everyone was talking about the 'New' colour TV that was coming soon!), digital as such did not really exist and it's a void i'm trying to fill now and hoping to find a little help along the way here.
Thanks for letting me in all,
Pete, G8UXL.
