Thirty feet to starboard and he would have planted it.
He could have broken an ankle when he jumped out. Not a young guy with spring in his legs.
It will be possible to repair that plane back to flight ready status easy enough thanks to the parachute. Had it drilled in without the chute neither the plane nor the pilot would have been repairable
