    Pioneering Spirit construction vessel - GIF

    At 403,342 tons, the Pioneering Spirit is the worlds largest vessel in terms of gross tonnage. The vessel is 382 meters (1,253 ft) long and has a maximum lifting capacity of 48,000 tons.

    So what happens to the legs??,do they sink if it was a floating rig or just stay pegged to the seafloor if a standing rig .Now that gonna keep me up all night long

    Gigantic vessel doing immense work, not to mention 'handing off' the platform to another. Well, of course, MV Pioneering Spirit isn't built for littoral navigation. But one simple action made biggest impression, the laser cut yet interlocking separation of the upper structure. 31 seconds in. Safe bet that pitch spacing is not even numbered or same 180° apart.
    How possible would this be just severed, as in an obvious straight cut, not?
