    Looking closely in slowed speed it looks like there was a fine mist coming from around that Victualic clamp. When he tried to tighten it the pressure caused it to fail.
    Victualic clamps are great for joining pipes together, but you don't want to disturb them while under pressure the only thing holding them together is a slight grooved depression formed into the pipe near the end the clamp fits in the groves with a rubber seal between them.

    Does tightening a Vic collar even do anything? Once it's bottomed out it's bottomed out. It isn't going to put any more pressure on that gasket. If you have a leak you need to take that thing apart, clean it, make sure the pipes are aligned and the gasket is greased up properly.
