    Neat idea, but it is not apparent what connects second clamp to the jack-screw.

    I will field this, the jack screw is connected via a long nut welded to the tab that the second clamp is clamped on the nut is inside of the long cylinder and has a slot the tab can travel in. Think of the function of screw in a cross slide or compound unit
    Never try to tell me it can't be done
    When I have to paint I use KBS products

    I see that, except it is not visible, or connects so quickly. It looks to just rest in the saddle, unable to transmit force of screw. I'm googling up supplier/ manufacturer.
    It's good to sell features with visual demonstrations, the unclear parts might be the root of patent infringements, lol.
    The only big (outside Ridgid) pipe-fitter gear company I know is Mathey-Dearman, so this'll be entertaining.

    Ah hell;
    Must have blinked at same moment of each viewing.........the second clamp ISN"T a saddle, it's ATTACHED to the jackscrew tube.
    Bingo!
    But now want to google even more......

    Didn't see the results of your Google search so here goes.

    SMP (Specialty Maintenance Products) Side Winder Pipe Spreader. US $1,850 - $2075 depending on pipe length and chain length.

    I could not find a good picture of the Inner Tube Attachment.

    From their website:

    The SMP Side Winder is the only flange spreader designed specifically to spread lap joint flanges, slip on flanges and all other styles of flat faced flanges.
    The SMP Side Winder utilizes a pair of chain clamps and a tube attachment and drive screw assembly to effectively separate pipe flanges.
    The Side Winder attaches to the pipe on either side of the flanges with chain clamps and is operated by turning the main drive screw inside the pipe spreader tube.
    The SMP Side Winder creates up to 5,000 pounds of spread force and fits all flange styles with pipe diameters 2” through 18”.
    The SMP Side Winder comes in 2 different operating spans 5” through 30” and 5” through 42” each with 2 size models.
