This Fisher FP 303 Ultralight build, built by James on BadBearMine.com, is a great example of a small, inexpensive, basic plane build.

The FP 303 is a wood and fabric covered, single seat, low wing, open cockpit plane. It's designed for easy construction and transport; the wings fold along the fuselage for easy trailering or storage, and it can be field assembled in 10 minutes.

This one has a Rotax 277 engine spinning a wood prop, and it was built to be part 103 compliant.

A couple of cool build details here. First of all, this plane had previously crashed, and sat grounded for 9 years. So James didn't just build it, he rebuilt it (rare for a plane build). Also, check out the pic with the plane's wings folded up, parked in front of a garage. See what's sitting on a stand on the lawn? That's a homemade scratch-built plywood and epoxy dinghy.

That's right folks, a plane build and a boat build, in one pic.
