My watch has no battery. Instead it recharges using a solar cell incorporated into the dial.
During our bitter winter here in LA we often wear long-sleeved sweaters and jackets. These prevent the watch from seeing the sun so occasionally I have to put the watch out on the patio table to soak up a few rays. This means holding it so that it faces up into the sky with its face perpendicular to the incident light. Doing thus reduces the recharge time.
I discovered that, by happy coincidence, a pool noodle has almost the same circumference as my wrist. Two bamboo skewers hold the watch and noodle at the correct angle so the solar cell sees incident light.
