PORTABLE ROUTER TABLE
i repurposed this old Towa 91/4 " saw table into a router table. I used it for many years with the original metal top with a hole cut in the centre of the blade slot. The slot & hole weakened the pressed steel top. It was & is great as a second table esp if using a bearing bit but I can clamp a straight edge for a fence when needed.
When I did renos away from home it was invaluable as the only bench router on site.
Some years back I cut the original metal top away, and replaced with thick perspex allowing above visibility, as the metal top sagged slightly under the weight of the Makita 3 hp router.
It is especially useful when used in conjunction with the B & D Workmate which expands to hold it securely but can be clamped to any secure table.
I guess many who have read my posts know I like to reuse rather than throw away.
