It would be inserted into the chicken's beak and twisted upwards and moved slightly side to side. He said that this would instantly "scramble the chicken's brain" (his words) and i "Pin It")

He said that was taught as the most humane method to kill the animal quickly and without pain. This seems to be a tool based on the same theory.
Funny that this made me think of him.
