I picked this up from a local clearing sale for $50. The old guy there said he made it from scrap he had around his shed about 20 years ago and used it to build another shed.20170131_182610.mp4

push block made from Blackwood acacia melanoxylon
I had a couple largish offcuts of oregon I never knew what to do with (somehow thought they might be a coffee table) Then my son said he wanted a dedicated wood work bench. Being such a soft wood, I never thought it would be any good for this application however with a couple planks of Australian redbox( Eucalyptus polyanthemos ) for a heavy work surface and a vice lined with Australian redgum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis). It all seems to come together and do the trick.Attachment 16445https://au.pinterest.com/pin/463518986635008510/

I needed to get together a solid general purpose bench for my new shed. Not having the steel I wanted for the design I was thinking of , I remembered all this 3x1,1/2" hardwood I had. 7 hurdle frames, Dyna bolt to floor and 3 layers of particle board for stability. After thought... I need to reinforce bottom shelf...
