The key to this project was a little compound slide picked out from a scrap pile. This is fixed to a television/speaker bracket, also salvaged. Locking the brackets is a bit time consuming, at present needing 2 Allen keys and a spanner. The bracket is screwed to a mahogany batten which can slide into a different position. To move this a #3 pozidrive screwdriver is used. The assembly can be removed and taken to the other workshop where it can be screwed to a similar batten.. The assembly can be screwed down for use with the left wheel, or the right, as shown. I have three tool holders. Which can fit on the compound, and also on to my vintage lathe. One holds an E11 collet holder, which will make it easier to sharpen small drills. I have not yet made a tool holder for square cutters. It may not even be necessary.
The grinder you see is sitting on a larger TV bracket. This was, believe it or not, actually purchased 40 years ago.
