Presentation of ba38
Hi all
I am an engineer (and PhD) from France in the Alps mountains, and use to do a lot of things since I was young !
I began to help my father and learned to work wood with manual tools.
Next when I was 13 th I bought an old lathe and began to work steel, brass, aluminium, plastics,...
Now I own a wood shop with new machines (drill, 400 mm wheel band saw, 310 mm combined dresser and planner, combined circular saw and molder with a 2m balls bearings table), an old mortizer I rebuild and a set of portable electrical machines such drill, circular saw, jigsaw, routers,...), a metal shop with a bandsaw, a lathe, a mill, a grinder, sharpening heads, welding equipment MMA & TIG, and a composite plastic shop.
I bought the wood shop machines a few years ago to build doors, stairs,..., for a house "without heating" I designed and built completely by myself (hugely insulated, with triple glasses, a large green-house facing south to collect the sun beams and heat.
Its performance are very high : about 2 kWh/m2/year measured over the 5 last years, this winter about 25 € to heat it whereas I am living at 1350 m above sea level and in a high winds place !
As I make furnitures and a lot of others things in metal and plastics for my daughters, my family or myself, my shops are overcrowded !
I am very pleased to look at a lot of DIY tools or things I regularly see here. I would like to show some of tools I made or currently design !
Very glad to share ideas and DIY things.
Bernard.

Hi Jon
I have just posted a new topic about a swivel welding table.
Now I am working on 2 projects :
- a larger flat welding table and
- a linear delta robot to be used first as a 3D printer and possibly as a electronic SMD pick and place cnc (and probably other work).

I just saw that swivel welding table post. Nice work!
