Psychotechnic test for machinist apprentice

Hi,
Found in an old book about professional teaching in France, back in 1954 :

The text says :
"Psychotechnic - Precision test with electric recording : portable device for selecting machinist apprentices"

It's actually similar to that kind of game, but controlled by an X/Y cross table :

A good way to find people with good motor skills and hand eye co-ordination.
